Trên cơ sở nghiên cứu lý luận, luận văn đã hệ thống hóa cơ sở lý luận về nhu cầu hỗ trợ tâm lý của bệnh nhân và đưa ra kết luận như sau: Nhu cầu hỗ trợ tâm lý của BN chính là là những mong muốn và đòi hỏi của BN những người mắc bệnh thực thể, được tiếp cận với các hoạt động hỗ trợ tâm lý trong bệnh viện, để được nâng đỡ về mặt tâm lý, giải tỏa cảm xúc, được nhận sự tư vấn để giải quyết các vấn đề liên quan đến khó khăn trong quá trình điều trị bệnh thực thể, thay đổi hành vi để ổn định, duy trì sức khỏe, cuộc sống và nâng cao hơn hiệu quả của việc tiếp nhận điều trị.
